Wojtek's travel log

Bye-bye my white ship!

After 12 days aboard it is the time to say goodbye to our ship.  In the morning we docked in San Juan, Puerto Rico.  In the old town terminal -just steps from Plaza de Armas and narrow streets. They wanted us to leave the cabins no later then 8.30 am.  We paid, we must  go. They are preparing the cabins for the next 3000 passengers boarding in the afternoon. They will sail, they will pay, they will go. Crew did not smile this morning – they already collected their tips :)   The debarcation procedures are the shame for the services. We were waiting in the long line more than an hour to be finally released to the town.  Fortunately I had only some 500 m to walk to the cheapest accommodation in old San Juan. Fortaleza GH still exists and charge 40 USD for single with fan and shared bath. Cash only. Be also prepared for 10 USD key deposit.

In the narrow streets of old city you will not see black skin people like on the other islands. Spanish is number one language here. And the city with the Spanish colonial flavor is really nice.  This is my fourth time here and I am enchanted again.

San Juan became very popular -three other ships were in the port today…
