Koalas of Mikkira Station

Can you see on the map of South Australia the big Eyre Peninsula?. That’s we were driving today after a rather cold night in Coodlie Camp. On the western side of the peninsula there is short but picturesque gravel ocean road with a nice views from the cliff and few idyllic, empty beaches…

Then we had our lunch on the open air (noodles from the last dinner) – the food is not sophisticated…

At the end of the day we reached remote Mikkira Station – it is like huge, abandoned farm located at the southern end of the peninsula. It is famous for the koalas and kangaroos. After arrival we had like an hour to wander in the forest to take the pictures of this funny creatures.

So far it was the highlight of the expedition.
