I know Red, Black, Yellow Seas… Now I am going to the White Sea! I left the train on the poor Kem station. Darkness. I found somebody to ask for the bus to the port. First one at 6.45! Junk bus took me for 20 roubles to Rabocheostrovsk pier. Yes! we have the ship to the Solovetsky Island – 800 roubles each way. But keep in mind that this is the last sail in the season. If you will stay longer you will pay 2000 for the private motorboat, if there will be one! It was windy and rainy when we sailed – again an the junk ship…
But I reached Solovki – one of these mistic places. There is monastery enlosed in the Kremlin (castle). During Stalin period there was one of the hardest gulags located. I had enough time to visit gulag museum in the village and the impressive monastery.
The weather was bad = I decided to take same boat back in the evening.
