We dock in Marseille. I have been here many times (first time in 1974) and every time I try to discover something new. After substantial breakfast I took the walk ftom the ship to the port gate. There is a stop of free shuttle bus provided by port.- it will take you to Joliet Square in the center. Then I took a walk to Old Port. The tourist boats to the Island d’If are sold 3 hours ahead – better book them online! Electrical works take place in the castle… So I took a walk along the water to the huge St Nicolas Fort and onward to Phare Palace. Great view from the palace garden to the opposite Fort Saint Jean and huge Saint Laurent church. You can see from here every boat entering old port! That’s new face of Marseille… Sunny weather, blue sea, I have a good time!
