Lake Bled – the Slovenian Beauty

Lovely sun since the morning! At 9 am we were already driving to the snow-capped mountains. On the route there were two stopovers: one at the Basilica of Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Brezje (well known pilgrimage site) and the second in Radovlica – little historic town with old manor and stylish houses. There is also interesting Beekeeping Museum. Just few kilometres away we reached the highlight of our trip – beautiful Lake Bled with old castle and Assumption Church on the little island. The lake is surrounded by mountains with fresh green on the slopes. The view from the castle yeu can see on many porsters promoting Slovenia… There is a museum in the castle and entry fee is around 10 euro. Lake Bled is 2 kms long. On its other side there is a trail heading to the Mala Osojnica peak. The path is steep, an it will take you around 40 min to climb to the viewpoint. The panorama of the lake and snowy mountains (see picture) is even nicer (and free) if watched from here. Great views, great day!
