Fartaleza: skyscraperrs and beaches…

We reached today the biggest town of the poor Brazilian Nordeste. The capital of the province is surprisely nice and bright with long beaches, flowers and palmtrees. But all of us received to the cabins warning letter: the area surrounding the port is not safe! Well… once out of the ship I took free shuttle bus to the passenger terminal (nice. but wifi very weak!) Here another shuttle was waiting taking passengers for 12 euro to the central market and back. Expensive! It is distance only 6 kms! I signed rather for red duble decker offering sightseeing of the city with 1,5 hour stop at the Mercado Central. 12 USD and explanation also in English. We were going along the beaches, central streets, parking eventually near cathedral, opposite the old fortress (“fortaleza”) occupied now by army
Very hot and intetesting day! Since tomorrow we start Atlantic crossing. Next message after 5 days from Tenerife. Be patient! 🙂
