Do you remember my Pitcairn Island story? Captain Bligh from mutinied “Bounty” after weeks of sailing in a little boat landed on Western Timor… Me too! Little local airline Transnusa took me to Kupang – the capital city of Western Timor. From the airport I took a 1 km walk to the main road (35 deg or something here! – a lot of sweat) and then a bemo-local minibus took me to the center of sleepy Kupang for 2000 INR. Taxi costs 50000.
L’Avalon bar is something not to be missed here. Not for the beer – but for the view of the ocean and the owner – Edwin who is the best source of info – really helpful guy! The bar is run-down but Edwin will try let you sent your mails – if not in the morning then in the evening… I managed…
I took local bemo and then walked in the heat to reach Oenesu Waterfall – some 14 km from the town – sorry, not worth the effort. But to know that you must be there first and see…
